Freedom From Hunger - The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation's five year campaign, Freedom from Hunger, was launched in 1960. Freedom from Hunger was intended as a community campaign aimed at raising global awareness of the issues of poverty around the world as well as providing opportunities for communities in developed countries to directly support anti-poverty programs in the developing world.

World Hunger Year - World Hunger Year (WHY) is an organization that seeks to address the root causes of hunger and poverty. WHY was founded in 1975 by folk singer Harry Chapin, a social activist who was as well known for his humanitarian efforts as for his guitar ballads.
